2008 Paralympics
Paralympians will begin competing in Beijing on September 6, 2008. The University of Illinois will be well represented nationally and internationally in four sports. Current students and alumni will compete on teams and serve as coaches for the United States, Canada, and Australia. Learn more about the sports, classifications, qualifications, and schedule of events and results at the official Paralympics site. It's no accident that so many are from Champaign, as many gained valuable competitive experience in the Adapted Athletics Program through DRES, a service unit of the College of Applied Health Sciences.
